[Home][FAQ][ Is Swimming Required?]

This is a water based vacation.

Almost all of our activities are on or in the water. For your safety you must be at least able to "swim". By "swim" we mean you should be able to tread water and stay afloat unassisted for at least 15 minutes. This is the minimum level of swimming ability to be on the boat without wearing a type 2 PFD. Naturally to participate in many of the water activities you should be able to swim for a distance of at least 100 yards.

With family orientated vacations a special situation can arise. One member of the group wants very much to share this experience with their family, but they cannot "swim".  Since we are very family orientated, we will try to accommodate this situation with the following restriction: all non-swimmers must wear a type 2 PFD whenever on deck, (out of the cock-pit, Salon area), on a small water craft, or intentionally in the water. We have such PFDs for everyone. So just ask even if you can swim but feel more comfortable with one. Unfortunately, these restrictions will not work for children. They cannot be counted on to keep them on. So children must be able to swim or they cannot be onboard.
