[Home][FAQ][ Should We Tip?]

We do not pay our crew when we have guests.

We are your hosts and you are our guests; you are not our customers and this is not a business for us. So tipping us is not appropriate. Our reward is watching you have fun with us.

The situation is quite different for our two hired crew. They normally receive a salary. But when we have guests they are not paid their regular salary. We do this to make sure that they have a direct incentive to serve you our guests. So tipping them is very appropriate if they have served you well and helped to make this a very memorable vacation for you and your family. We recommend a minimum tip of 2% of your share of the cost for each crew member (4% total) to a maximum of 5% each (10% total). We recommend you present your cash tip directly to them on an individual basis on Sunday morning before you leave. Ask me for envelopes if you prefer them.
