Shark attacks are very unlikely in our part of the Caribbean.

Looking at the history of shark attack reports since 1595 until present, we see that the Virgin, Leeward and Windward islands have very few shark attack reports. In the map below, the white rectangles show areas of many shark attacks. Notice that this high risk area is along Florida's East coast and the Bahamas. Notice also that there are almost no reports of shark attacks in the black rectangle marking our area. You can view the shark attack data directly at Historical Shark Attacks.

So it is very safe and we choose only local areas that are diver friendly and known to be safe.
