[Home][Trip Planning][ Your Costs]

Your share of the cost is very reasonable.

We are family orientated and willing to share our yacht and toys with our family, friends and sailing acquaintances at some of the most beautiful locations in the world. Our motive is simple. We find that cruising in paradise is so much more fun for us when we have guests than when we don't! Paradise is just more beautiful when we share it with others. So we would prefer to have guests as often as reasonable.

You costs include your share of the supplies, food, fuel, anchorage, immigration, customs and park fees, operating costs, insurance, interest, depreciation and maintenance of the equipment. The total estimated cost is about $1350 USD per person, per week for adults. Children under 12 are about a $1000 and children under 6 are about $750. Yachting is expensive and this is no exception. But these estimates are comparable to other Caribbean vacation alternatives. This offer is intended for family, friends and our sailing acquaintances as private guests only. We are not a charter business, comercial enterprise or "for hire" in any way.

Initially we will cover your share of the costs in good faith. Then at the end of your stay we will add up the total expenses and you can reimburse us for your share of the cost. It is usually within plus or minus 5% of the estimates above. The costs vary by island especially if the local currency is not in $USD. Before you make arrangements for a specific time frame, we will warn you if the expense could be outside this narrow range. So don't worry that there will be any unexpected costs. Of course this does not include your tips, ground transportation, airfare or personal expenses like shopping, dinner ashore and shore excursions...

At the end of your stay we will determine the exact amount; a personal check will be fine. Remember, we are not a business, so we do not have the ability to accept credit cards. Most credit cards will issue checks or bank drafts for you to use if you ask them. Don't forget about tipping the hired crew if they have helped make your trip memorable. There is more discussion under Should We Tip?
